Description The Assembly Verification Integration Engineering team is within the Manufacturing Engineering - Electrical Department, Assembly Verification Group. The department is responsible for processing and testing the electrical systems of vehicles within our assembly plants. The Assembly Verification group is responsible for test development and test integration. All tests are performed using serial data communication to all the vehicles' electronic control units. The Assembly Verification Integration Engineer (AVIE) acts as the single point of contact for the Assembly Verification Group. The AVIE works closely with the test developers on test validation and with the assembly plant on improving quality. Due to the wide scope of work, this position will have high visibility across General Motors through product design groups, program launch teams, assembly manufacturing and quality organizations. The integration team is a dynamic group and this position will be challenging. The AVIE is the key manufacturing engineering person to deliver integrated end of line systems to plants. Testing stations in the plant include a static test site, chassis alignment station and testing on the full vehicle dynamometer. The AVIE is responsible for:
Collaborating with product engineering and IT to set up plant infrastructure for the new vehicle programs. Leading execution of major programs and ongoing assembly plant support. Assuring high quality system verification on all Assembly Verification Group (AVG) applications and system changes before deployment at the assembly plants. Providing support for issue resolution process to identify, track, and resolve issues affecting End of Line (EOL) and plant throughput during launch and into steady state production. Driving continuous Improvements in the organization. Removing roadblocks or Assembly Verification Integration Engineers with product engineering, manufacturing, IT or AVG software development team. Collaborating with AVIEs in other regions on global vehicles. Additional Description Education:
Bachelordegree with preferred focus in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience Preferred
Experience:
Five years of engineering experience Overall vehicle electrical system experience Vehicle electrical sub-systems experience (engine controls, ABS, air bag, body controllers) Automotive assembly plant operations. GM quality systems GM vehicle development process Familiarity with GM Global B (VIP) architecture Ability to read CAN log files Manufacturing Engineering experience Electrical engineering experience Programming in C/C+

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
