Description Hybrid:
This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week The Role The Virtual Hardware-in-the-Loop (V-HIL) team is a highly technical, highly knowledgeable, passionate, strategic, and visionary group working on an organizational transformation. We are seeking cutting-edge solutions to the question:
how do we develop and validate our embedded control system without any hardware? The VHIL team is developing a 100% virtual HIL platform to do just that. This means that you can potentially put a fingerprint on the vehicles that drive down the road! This space is ripe with technical leadership opportunities for advanced technology development, as well as the ability to provide mentorship for new employees. You can flex your teamwork muscles as you will be tasked with working with several other areas of engineering, IT, and the business. Part of developing a completely virtual embedded control system is developing virtual electronic control units (VECU) that serve as real-time virtual counterparts of physical ECUs. As an Application Engineer - VECU, while leading the development of a given VECU, you will be the expert and single-point source for all technical aspects for said VECU. The VECU Development team supports all vehicle feature coverage, including Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) Computing Platform, Electrification, Infotainment & Connectivity, Chassis & Body, and Propulsion modules. Responsibilities Work cross-functionally with Design Release Engineers, Tier 1 suppliers, and model integration partners to develop VECU packages Deploy VECU packages to internal General Motors users Apply production software to VECUs Validate and verify VECU/Application software package integrity via various function and non-functional testing Work cross-functionally with Simulation Integration Engineers to support the integration of VECUs onto virtual system benches Deploy and maintain virtual software integration benches Collaborate with software developers to root cause and solve low-level, basic software and application software issues found in the virtual environment Debug VECUs and integrated production software as needed Develop new simulation and test scrip capabilities to address expanding virtual ECU needs and usages Additional Description Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics 2

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
