PURPOSE:
To function as primary caregiver for each camper through planning, teaching, coordinating and carrying out activities and guiding campers in their personal growth.
QUALITIES NEEDED:
GENERAL:
understanding of aims and objectives of camping
ability to work with children to grow in character, experiences, and insights
understanding the developmental needs of youth
knowledge of camp program and planning
winning way with campers
guard the health and well-being of campers at all times
SPECIFIC:
-at least 18 years old / or at least one year college experience
experience working with children
-ability to work in the out of doors comfortably be enthusiastic & dependable be able to obtain or become certified in First Aid or CPR
ability to observe camper behavior and assess its appropriateness
Responsibilities:
GENERAL:
-Work with a cabin of 8-10 campers to experience a safe, growing, fun camp experience
-Work with other staff in a supportive manner
-Be able to enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures
-Be a role model in your attitude and behavior
-Be alert to camper and staff needs, as well as equipment and facility issues, and report same to Camp Director
SPECIFIC:
-Evaluate information on campers assigned to you
-Greet campers and families upon arrival and orientate them to camp
-Establish cabin jobs, rules, and emergency procedures with campers
-Elect cabin council representatives
-Plan cabin activities with campers
-Organize and accompany cabin on overnight
-Participate in all camp functions
-Teach classes in a specialty area
-Organize one all camp, program or special event
-Attend pre-camp and ongoing staff meetings and training
-Report any suspicion of child abuse to your camp director and discuss it with no one else
-Assist in the direction, supervision and organization of campers throughout all camp activities in order to meet intended outcomes
-Assist Camp Director in ensuring the safety of campers
-Contribute to evaluations and communications as required
-Develop and maintain positive relationships with kitchen, safety and maintenance staff
-Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to contribute to the successful operation of camp.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
